We're getting ready to leave for mom's trip. Our departure is Tuesday, October 14th at about 1:30pm. We fly to Minneapolis (have to watch out for the "wide stance") and lay over for 4 hours before our overnight flight to Amsterdam. In Amsterdam we layover 2 hours and then we fly to Venice, arriving about 4pm on Wednesday. A total of 18 hours, 47 minutes in planes and airports!
Thursday and Friday we'll tour Venice and the surrounding islands. Global Travel is providing a tour of Murano and Burano, as a conciliatory offering to make up for their agent's mishandling of our trip.
I'm excited to see Murano and witness the glass factories, especially because of the work I've done over the past year and a half with glass fusion. I'm also excited to put my camera to work and document our travels with photos.
We get on the ship Saturday, October 18th and travel the Greek Isles until the 25th, when we get back on the plane to arrive home around midnight that same day.
My plan is to update this blog on a daily basis. It will depend on internet access on the ship and the cost to access it. I hope you enjoy it and will follow mom's travels.
